Miss Philippines Q and A

Judge Vivica A. Fox asked Miss Philippines if she would change her religion to marry someone she loves.

Fox: “Would you change your religious beliefs to marry the person you love? Why or why not? “

Shamcey: ” If I had to change my religious beliefs, I will not marry the person that I love. Because the first person that I love is GOD who created me. And I have my faith and my principles. And these what makes me who I am. And if that person loves me, he should love my God too, Thank you.”

repost by alexander's point of view:

miss philippines didn't got the appropriate answer. she has to remember that the pageant is about "miss universe", so she has to speak about universal themes such as love and not to stick on religion which is considered as one of the causes of conflict in this world. she has to consider that common adage that "love conquers all". Definitely, if there is love there is peace. she should be willing to change her religion in the name of love. When she marry, she has to give up things she believed- in for love. no less than the bible says in collosians 3:18, that, “Wives, submit to your husbands, as is fitting in the lord” and in Ester 1:20..."all the women will respect their husbands, from least to greatest."congrats anyway.

I agree and like how he explained why Miss Philippines didn't got the appropriate answer, when she uttered an option in her last answer it's not a un-conditional love is she sound too self-serving? You cannot change the direction of the winds but you can always adjust your sails to reach your destinations so does LOVE applies to that and we all know what LOVE can do to humanity, the impossible became possible. I am sorry to say that only in the Philippines her answer will win she forgot she's in Miss U and not talking only to herself. We cannot deny the fact in general that when we love someone who is different to us especially religion barrier the ability of us to sacrifice and give up something in the name of love. If you would to question me same I would definitely give up my religion to the one I love if that makes me happy and fulfill. When loving someone it is not about religion it is about LOVE, when there is love there is peace, understanding, harmony, happiness and respect and that made us same and equal. It's not a good reason why we can't love the person because of his/her religion and I would never deprive and hold my self upon loving someone if he has different religion.

I know among you have different opinions some may agree and dis agree but this is my honest opinion.
