ABS-CBN upcoming Koreanovelas :)

ABS-CBN is where the first and true home of Asianovelas. Whether it's Taiwanese, Chinovela ( Chinese ), Mexicanovela ( mexico) and Japanese. Filipino's are always on the go to watch and follow the series and became part of daily routine it's like " the day wouldn't be complete without watching those series " the ecstasy and anxiety is there can't wait for the next episodes". Even we act like a director because we always suggest to what is the best scenes to happen became sad, happy, angry cos we definitely go with the flow or should I say we can relate to the stories hahah and I know you're a director too lol what about acting like a script writer? cos we almost memorize the lines or sometimes we guess what will be the pick up lines.....hahahha sounds funny right? but it's cute :)


The most anticipated and trending now to social sites are Koreanovelas that brought a big impact to the lives of Filipino's. The Korean invasion is totally a big bang! the Hallyu wave or better known as anything in Korean from clothing's, music K-pop, movies, soap operas, restaurants, fashions like beauty products, color and hairstyles, even some of us learned and knew how to speak basic Korean -eheeemmmm ;). It's pretty obvious that Korean culture won the heart of the Filipino's.

Without further ado here's ABS-CBN kapamilya upcoming Koreanovelas.

Genre: Action, suspense, romance

• CITY HUNTER one of the most expensive and highly-thrilling Korean series main cast: Lee Min Ho as Lee Yoon Sung / John Lee / Poo Chai, Park Min Young as Kim Na Na, Lee Joon Hyuk as Kim Young Joo.

Synopsis: The story takes place in Seoul, 2011. Lee Yoon Sung is a talented MIT-graduate who works on the international communications team in the Blue House. He plans revenge on five politicians who caused his father's death with his surrogate father Lee Jin Pyo and eventually becomes a "City Hunter."

 Will be shown on Philippines TV this coming January 23, 2012 in primetime lineups.

Genre Romantic Comedy:

• Sungkyunkwan Scandal 

Synopsis: Sungkyunkwan Scandal is set in Sungkyunkwan University in the late Joseon era during the reign of King Jeongjo, revolving around the exploits and love stories of four youths. When her younger brother's illness worsens and their family is in danger of being evicted from their house for lack of money, Kim Yoon Hee enters the school under his name, disguised as a boy in her desperation to support him. There, she becomes friends with the intelligent and upright Lee Sun Joon, the playboy Goo Yong Ha and rebellious Moon Jae Shin.

• Dream High

Synopsis: tells the story of six students at Kirin Art High School who work to achieve their dreams of becoming music stars in the Korean music industry. Go Hye Mi is a student who had majored in classical music but has to give up her dream by entering Kirin Art High School to pay off her father's debt. However, she needs to get two other students to also come to the school in order for her to enroll in the school conditionally. These two students are Song Sam Dong, who lives in the countryside, and Jin Guk, whom she accidentally meets while trying to escape from a loan shark. Yoon Baek Hee, formerly Hyemi's sidekick, becomes her rival in school because Hye Mi betrays her during an audition to enter the school.

Synopsis: No Eun Seol finally gets a job as a professional secretary at a large conglomerate after struggling with unemployment, only to fall in love with her boss, Cha Ji Heon, the immature youngest son of a chaebol family.

• Can't lose

Synopsis: Eun Jae and Hyung Woo are both highly competent lawyers who met and fell in love at first sight without knowing each other's occupations, but are now in the midst of their divorce proceedings. Their relationship was initially sweet and loving, but their marriage slowly began to crack under their constant fights.

• Sunny Happiness

Synopsis: Xiang Yun Jie (Mike He) is rich man who was once divorced, and unknowingly had an eight year old son. He is also a young owner of a hotel. Fang Yong Yong (Janine Chang) is an orphan. She works as a housekeeper in the hotle that Xiang Yun Jie owns. The two of them started their fairytale like love story from a 'fake marriage'. Xiang Yun Jie's brother, Xiang Yun Chao (Li Yi Feng), is always hiding in the shadow, he is also the one who completes the love triangle.

• Hayate the Combat Butler

Synopsis: George Hu plays a man who is buried by his parents' gambling debts. With no way to pay back the money, he thought about going to the dark side by getting into the kidnap and ransom business. But instead of becoming a kidnapper, he ended up saving a girl from a real kidnapping. The girl turned out to be the sole heir of a conglomerate who faced these kinds of threats every day. In a case of kidnapping gone wrong vs. mistaken love confession, she hires him to be her butler and helps repay his parents' debts. Grateful to have gangster collectors off his back, he vows to protect her from harms, which is no easy task.

• Absolute Boyfriend

Synopsis: Manga Synopsis - Riiko is a girl unlucky in love. One day a strange-looking salesman gives her a business card for a website that sells "love figures" (androids designed for love-making). On the spur of the moment and without really understanding the implications, Riiko orders one for a 3-day free trial. She forgets to return him before the deadline, and must then work out some way to return the one million debt she now owes without anyone discovering about this embarrassing secret.

• Promise of 1000 Days

Synopsis: ( also know as forget me not ) A story about a woman who's slowly losing her memory and a man who takes responsibility for loving her.

• Glory Jane

Synopsis: Yoon Jae In is a struggling young woman who dreams of becoming a nurse. She meets Kim Young Kwang at the hospital when he sustains injures. Kim Young Kwang is a baseball player who used to be hotshot hitter but got demoted to second string. As they struggling to overcome their fates, they find love.

• Thorn Birds

Synopsis: This is the story of two women, Seo Jung Eun and Han Yoo Kyung, who walk very different paths to achieve their desires. Seo Jung Eun is a strong and courageous woman who has suffered a difficult life, having grown up in an orphanage, but continues to embrace people around her despite longing for affection herself. Jung Eun harbours the hope that she will meet her mother if she becomes a star, striving to reach her goal and overcome her suffering with her pure and innocent nature. In contrast, Han Yoo Kyung has a birth secret for which she is willing to throw away everything in order to get revenge. The "thorn birds" of the title refers to Jung Eun's character, who only brings out her best at the cost of great pain. A thorn bird is a mythical bird who searches for a thorn tree from the day it is born. When it finds it, the bird impales itself upon the sharpest thorn, and rises above the agony to sing the most beautiful song ever heard.

• K-pop Sensations - Donghae and Siwon of Super Junior in  Skip Beat. I can't wait to see them in acting field.

•  Wu Chun of Fahrenheit is back for those who can't get over with his funny and romantic drama in Hana kimi will have his comeback in Sunshine Girl.

• Asia's prince  Jang Geun Suk will  be back with Love Rain together  with Girls’ Generation’s Yoona. I can't wait to find out if they have chemistry.

I will surely watch all of this and I really can't wait I am a number one fanatic and exposed I saw different type of Genre when it talks about Korean Series.


Verdict: Korean series are unpredictable to what will gonna happen to next episodes and day by day different scenes and twist in short it can make you puzzled. It will surely challenge your analyzation skills at the end of the show you can't get over meaning it will really stuck to your mind and heart you will repeatedly watch it by not getting bored. In Filipina/pinay emotional reactions tend to fall in-love with the stories will have day dreaming much more when uttered " OMG I hope I am his leading lady he is my ultimate idol or crush ideal bf lol. Not like Filipino Drama series that almost same flow of the stories even you can memorize what will the lead characters line and it's ok to skip one day episode because it is predictable. I didn't criticized Filipino drama series it's just I got high standards when it comes to series since I like to watch different series around the world like, Thai, Chinese, Taiwanese, American,Indian, Mexican and Japanese with that I can depict the difference..... So guys have fun with this new much awaited Korean Series.
